Chief Pilot Randy Zahn flew William Shatner on to the USS Midway to host a live webcast that aired on during the "Tweet House" party for Comic-Con over the Summer.

The Tweet House event celebrated Twitter’s role on entertainment and promoted, a website dedicated to providing fans with amazing content, while connecting talented users with creative opportunities in music, graphic design, entertainment, acting, film production and writing.


Long Beach-Catalina Ski Race

Garner Shepard flew the Robinson R44 with Camera Operator Jimmy Lee Cook filming Terrible Herbst Motorsports for the 62nd Annual Long Beach-Catalina Ski Race.

78 boats competed in the 62 mile round-trip race across the Catalina channel at speeds of approximately 70 miles per hour - with water skiers in tow! You can watch a short documentary about Terrible Herbst and this race by clicking here.


Just Dropping By...

Pilot Gary Roesink dropped skydivers Jon Devore and Andy Farrington of the Red Bull Airforce over the Padres vs. Phillies game at Petco Park in the Bell JetRanger helicopter.

A First Time for Everything

Jack Walker took his first airplane flight in 1927 at age 5. He was a test pilot for Douglas on DC3’s and DC7’s and has logged over 13,000 hours of flight time in airplanes but, at 88 years old, he had never been in a helicopter.

Over the summer, student pilot Greg Simons and his instructor, Jeff Horonzy, invited Jack for his very first helicopter flight in a Robinson R44 helicopter for a helicopter tour of San Diego. Click here for more information on our helicopter tours.


Primm 300

Jesse Jones captured the overall and SCORE Trophy-Truck victory at the 15th Annual SCORE Las Vegas Terrible’s Primm 300 desert race held September 9th-11th. Jones, who owns an Aerospace Engineering firm in Phoenix, started 15th off the line of 30 starters in his #76 Ford F-150 Trophy Truck to an adjusted winning time of 4 hours ,46 minutes, 39 second.

Pilots Garner Shepard, Andy Fagan and Herb Hess were busy flying the race. Garner flew Score Officials in the Bell JetRanger and Herb flew the B3 AStar for McMillin Racing. Andy flew camera operator Jimmy Lee Cook, in the Robinson R44 filming for COPS Racing.

Woman Employer of the Year

Congratulations to Deann Shier, Chief Executive Officer of Corporate Helicopters, who was awarded Woman Employer of the Year by the Women’s Transportation Seminar, during a ceremony designed to recognize achievements in the transportation industry. Paul Hollenbach of SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) nominated Deann for the award. President of Corporate Helicopters, Ivor Shier, Pilot, Christi Miller and Vice President of Operations, Mandy Patterson also attended the event with Deann.
