Cookie Copter

Garner Shepard flew the Girls Scouts' top cookie sellers on to the USS Midway Museum in a Bell LongRanger for the San Diego-Imperial Girl Scouts' annual Operation Thin Mint event, a Girl Scout program to raise money to provide cookies to the troops. Girls Scouts who sold 2,000 or more boxes of cookies were rewarded by arriving to the event by helicopter! A Coast Guard Helicopter also hovered over the Midway picking up a large package, hundreds of thousands of boxes of Girl Scout cookies to be sent to military personnel stationed all over the world.

Cineflex Shoot

Corporate Helicopters and Aerial Filmworks were on location in Ocotillo Wells shooting a video for Axsys Technologies/General Dynamics' V14 MSII multi-sensor camera system. The Bell JetRanger was the camera helicopter for the shoot, rigged with a Cineflex V14HD Camera System, operated by Cinematographer, Ron Chapple and flown by Film Pilot, Ivor Shier. Check out this video.

Spidertracks Dealer

Corporate Helicopters recently became a dealer for Spidertracks, a portable Iridium based Satellite Tracking System that can track your aircraft, vehicle or vessel in real-time and then shown over online maps. You control who can see these aircraft, and they then have access via the Internet or the iSpiderViewer iPhone app.

The Spidertracks unit can be paired with a keypad device that allows two-way communication between Pilot and Operations base and also can track altitude, speed and direction, as well as send alerts via text or email and stores the recorded tracking data for later view. Special Delivery!

Vivos, a privately funded venture, is building a network of 20 underground shelters nationwide to accommodate 4,000 people as a plan to provide refuge for those that wish to be prepared to survive potential catastrophes such as earthquakes, asteroids, tsunamis, nuclear attacks, bio terrorism and chemical warfare. Vivos was in the process of unveiling their shelter located near Barstow, CA to the media when they realized, the key to the shelter was at their office in San Diego.

Pilot Mick Franks was able to save the day by flying the key in our Robinson R44 helicopter and delivering it to the shelter in time for the media to arrive. Watch the NBC news segment about Vivos.
