SDG&E HD Aerials

SDG&E flew their proposed Sunrise Powerlink route with pilot, Ivor Shier flying the HD Camera System in one of our AS350B2 AStar helicopters.

Aerial footage of the route was shown to potential bidders and contractors for the 120-mile long, renewable energy transmission line. The 230/500 kilovolt power line will bring 1000 megawatts of power from the Imperial Valley to San Diego County providing clean energy by 2013 from geothermal, solar and wind sources. The power line will support the future growth of the San Diego region and bring economic benefits of nearly $100 million per year.

For construction projects Corporate Helicopters provides Crew Transport, Powerline Patrol, Aerial Mapping Platforms and Aerial Crane services.

FAR Part 141 Training Academy

Chief Pilot, Randy Zahn, recently obtained our FAR Part 141 Approved School Certificate from the FAA to operate a Part 141 Flight Training Academy

In conjunction with our Part 61 school our students can now benefit from both training options. While Part 61 training offers flexibility and a less structured training environment, Part 141 training is (a) FAA approved, and (b) adheres to a stricter curriculum that is structured to give students the foundation they need for a career as a helicopter pilot.

Part 141 training also enables VA students to use their benefits and for other students to qualify for financing. Rest assured that whichever curriculum you decide upon, you will receive superior training.
