Horsepower Ranch Excursion

Corporate Helicopters’ flew a group of twenty-six people to the Horsepower Ranch. The group was flown in Company aircraft which included the Eurocopter AS 350B2 AStar, Bell LongRanger III and JetRanger BIII and the Robinson R44 Raven II. The ranch is located in the hills east of Ensenada and the drivers get to experience a four-day off-road adventure with Wide Open Baja.

Repelling

The Military Channel filmed an episode demonstrating training maneuvers used by paramilitary forces. The stuntman simulated deployment into a hostile area. Gary Roesink was the pilot for the repelling operations. The show will be aired July 23 on the Military Channel.

Amgen Tour

Pilots Garner Shepard and Myles Elsing embarked on the 10-day AMGEN Cycle Race with cameramen Jimmy Cook and Marty Zimmerman. The Corporate crew provided live aerial footage for the VS network and Internet streaming.

The Amgen Tour of California began in Sacramento with the world’s top cyclists and ended 750 miles later in Escondido. The adventure was filled with beautiful scenery, rainy days, numerous hotels and amazing aerial footage. Cyclist Levi Leipheimer won the Amgen Tour for the third straight year.

Presenting new CFI and CFII

Congratulations to Christi Miller, CFI and to Jeff Horonzy, CFII for passing their check rides. Jeff is getting out of the Navy soon and is looking forward to getting a job as a flight instructor.

The newly remodeled Corporate training room has a large conference table for studying graphs and maps and a projector for presenting the PowerPoint lesson plans. It is a great time of year to take an introductory flight lesson. Flying is a fantastic way to get a new perspective and it is also a superb career move.

Very Special 84th Birthday

Alice Lopez gave two-thumbs up after her very first helicopter ride. Her family surprised her with a gift they could share together. No life is complete until taking a helicopter tour over beautiful San Diego. There is a special floating sensation, kind of like dreaming, that makes it a special experience to share. Alice said the flight was a fantastic adventure and it was the best birthday ever. Not bad after 84 of them!

HAI Convention

Helicopter Association International’s HeliExpo was held in Anaheim and the Company sent management and staff to attend the show and attend classes. Mechanics Alfredo Cazares and Calvin Penfound were seen admiring the Company’s MD 500E that was displayed for sale at the MD booth.
