Pechanga Commercial
Ivor Shier worked with the director, Ed Buffman and the Marketing an Media Group crew preparing for the aerial filming of the hot air balloon at dawn over South Coast Winery in Temecula. Later in the day they filmed the golf course at the Pechanga Casino, and at dusk they filmed aerials of the Casino. This will be a very dramatic commercial filmed in HD with the Z Cam.
Charter LA to EnsenadaIt was the closest thing to being in two places at once. Pilot Gary Roesink, flew the LongRanger to LA landing on top of City Hall to pick up passengers who had attended the car show at the Los Angeles Convention Center and flew them to Ensenada, Baja Mexico in time for their next event the SCORE Baja 1000. Randy Zahn If you see our new Chief Pilot around the hangars and want to say hello, may I suggest you ask him what he hasn’t done rather than what he has done, unless you have a lot of time on your hands?
Fire in MexicoThe drought and fires we experienced in California, extended into Baja California. The wildfire was burning in the mountainous areas south east of Tijuana threatening ranches and property. Ivor and Joe Koller were kept busy with this job. To help get control of the fire the helicopters transported crews in the helicopters to and from the fire lines to slow the advancing flames by creating backfires, Santa Ana winds were strong and unpredictable and the smoke was tough on pilots and firefighters alike. A Bell 205 from mainland Mexico was contracted to drop water and was being directed by the Fire Chief from our helicopter. A few of the firefighters were dehydrated and were evacuated from the fire zone to receive medical attention. National Test Pilot SchoolPilots from around the world enroll in National Test Pilots School to learn a diverse set of aviation skills. Our Montgomery Base was used as an offsite training facility for courses in Eurocopters and Robinsons. The models demonstrated included the AS350, EC130 R44 and R22. Our full and part time pilots were instructing these foreign nationals under the guidance of Mike Hill from NTPS. Gift CardsA gift card from Corporate Helicopters brings happiness to everyone.
